What a metaphoric fall
Faced daily with differing paths and decisions, we mold our character and disposition through the choices we make. We facilitate each option through two means- commission or omission. Specifically each wrong decision we make can come by commission or omission.
When life gets difficult and something goes wrong, it is easy to omit all of our other priorities as we become discouraged and doubt our ability to do anything else right. But why do we do this? Inside we really know what we can achieve and accomplish, but we decide to shrug it off for the sake of procrastination. Author and spiritual activist Marianne Williamson stated:

The concept is fairly obvious and probably what you think about concerning choices. Commission is what you do. So if you do something, you've committed something- whether it be good or bad. What we often don't think about when it comes to choice is omission. Omission is what we choose not to do. Even though the concept of omission isn't obvious to our minds, it's often how we choose to do wrong. We all know the sins of commission, and we're not likely to commit a serious wrong such as killing someone, it's probably just not going to happen. But, when things become hard it becomes so easy for us to omit the things that matter most. What we need to do quickly turns into what we should have done as procrastination turns into the norm and we forget our responsibilities.
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world."It seems ridiculous, but when we observe the blessings that have been committed to us, our potential looms large and our fears mount about our ability to achieve such great heights. Can you or I really achieve our full possibilites? Can we actually face the challenges that come each day? Wouldn't it be easier to just not? Well it would be easier. It would be easier to hide from our fears, our challenges, our trials and just do nothing. But at the end of the day, at the end of our lives, success will not be measured in the amount of effort we lacked, but rather by the amount of effort we put in.
