Go and do the work

So I deactivated my Facebook and now no one visits my blog. Oh well.

Well life is life. Right now is that stretch of time where you are so ready for the moment when the final school bell rings and you're free for three months, but you still have over a month to go in school. Looming tests and exams seem like distant fears that are just obstacles to get around before the freedom of summer. But these "obstacles" cause the pressure to rise as review sessions are held, homework increases, and studying inches its way further into the wee hours of the night. Juggling schoolwork, sleep, a social life, and Church becomes too much to handle. Often Church is pushed off to the side for the fear of failing school, the necessity of sleep, and the notion of not having a social life. What we are so quick to push away is actually so important. Scriptures and prayer become a second priority and up-keeping a sense of morals seems like to much of a burden in the overly moral-less society that we live in. But really when it comes down to it and we look at ourselves, what we should really be shaped by is our desire to live according the Christ and His teachings. Taking 7 AP classes on subjects ranging from Calculus to Basket-Weaving are not as important in the long run as gaining a testimony of the Church. Fifteen minutes a day can be deducted from your sleep to read Scriptures and pray. Your friends can also take a break from you for fifteen minutes. Amid the hustle and bustle of day-to-day life, if we put the things we should do first, our burdens will seem easier. If we read our Scriptures before we take part in other activities, pray morning and night, and strive to keep a sense of morality, then we will feel the blessings from God. Go and do the things you need to.

"But this much I can tell you, that if ye do not watch yourselves, and your thoughts, and your words, and your deeds, and observe the commandments of God, and continue in the faith of what ye have heard concerning the coming of our Lord, even unto the end of your lives, ye must perish. And now, O man, remember, and perish not." -Mosiah 4:30
