Another Testament of Jesus Christ
"And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost. And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things." - Moroni 10:4-5
The Book of Mormon ends with this famous promise from Moroni, that if you pray with real intent about the truthfulness of these scriptures, the Holy Ghost will reveal it to you. Lots of people have stories of grand experiences where they pray and can feel strongly inside of them that this book is true by the spirit. These accounts can be powerful and strengthen our testimonies, but it is important to remember that the Holy Ghost speaks to us in many ways.

In Moroni 7:13, Mormon instructs that "that which is of God inviteth and enticeth to do good continually; wherefore, every thing which inviteth and enticeth to do good, and to love God, and to serve him, is inspired of God." The Book of Mormon is clearly a book that invites its' readers to do good continually. When you read it, the Spirit fills you and encourages you to be a little better. This does not have to be a cliche, overwhelming feeling. The words of this book are true principles that clearly invite everyone to follow God and practice righteousness.

I can't pinpoint one event in my life where I found out this was all true, yet I know it is. The Book of Mormon is true. This is not in some metaphorical sense, it is literally true. This book complements the Bible and other scriptures, and entices all to be their best selves. I've read through the Book of Mormon several times, and I know it is inspired of God. I know that it was translated by Joseph Smith and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is God's true church. I am excited to share this with others as I serve a mission for two years. Moroni's promise remains true for all that test it. If you read the Book of Mormon with real intent, and really desire to know that it is true, you will know for yourself. It may not be some big manifestation, but as you read the book and live it, you will know.

Mi Cumpleaños!

Wow, yesterday was a birthday I won't forget! It was actually a pretty great day. All my teachers and people in my district are so loving and kind. Hermana Doll gave me 6 of her famous home-made cookies, and those have been delicious. My morning teacher Hermana Jimenez wished me a happy birthday about 100 times. And it was one of the teacher's birthdays yesterday, so I got a slice of his cake! But something really out of the ordinary that happened on my birthday was that I got a new companion. That normally doesn't happen until a transfer date (every six weeks) so it was pretty strange. One of the elders in our district had to be moved from our district, so they split up my trio companionship and put me with the lone elder. My new companion's name is Elder Nolan, and he is a great guy. He knew literally no Spanish before coming here, and has progressed a lot. Conference

Hey remember this post post about changing your life? If you don't you better read it! Anyway, I was serious in that post. If you're not completely happy with your life, sit down right now and write ten ways to improve your life. That's what I did! But this brings up the question, how do I change my life? There's this program at Church where we learn things then we act upon them. So start by learning what you need to do. The ability to change your life probably isn't found in a textbook, but it can be found from men and women who are very close to God. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (aka Mormon) has many men and women like this, and they speak to the members of the Church twice a year for one weekend. Their messages are inspired directly from God himself. The words radiate with power and joy. Even if you're not a Mormon, try to listen to some of these speakers. The World Today

Everywhere you ever look today, the world is changing. Where many sins were shunned and horrific, they are right before our eyes today. Sin and squalor are all around at almost all angles. At some times, one can feel as if there is no hope and we are consigned to the woe around us, but that is not true. The truth is that the rising generation is the hope. We can be the best we want to be and make this world a better place. Think of your friends, your family, your potential, who you can become.
