The Office

Hola hola,

Yeah it is only Saturday, but today is our Pday. Next week I will be back to Pday on Monday.

It has been an interesting week working as the secretary. We are still working out how to balance the office responsibilities and normal missionary work, and we havent been able to do much normal missionary work so far. This week there was a special training for various parts of the mission on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, so we were involved in many behind-the-scenes things for those meetings. For example, on Tuesday and Wednesday we drove Presidents Chevy Traverse to pick up 30 pizzas for everyone. We have been able to do some other things, mostly typical office work so far.

The special training for the mission was pretty great too. President talked about the importance of the Book of Mormon in our work, and I hope to be able to share this important book with everyone. I really like a scripture from 2 Nephi 33:10

Hearken unto these words and believe in Christ; and if ye believe not in these words believe in Christ. And if ye shall believe in Christ ye will believe in these words, for they are the words of Christ, and he hath given them unto me; and they teach all men that they should do good.

The Book of Mormon is another testament of Christ and will help anyone come closer to God more than through any other book.

Mi Cumpleaños!

Wow, yesterday was a birthday I won't forget! It was actually a pretty great day. All my teachers and people in my district are so loving and kind. Hermana Doll gave me 6 of her famous home-made cookies, and those have been delicious. My morning teacher Hermana Jimenez wished me a happy birthday about 100 times. And it was one of the teacher's birthdays yesterday, so I got a slice of his cake! But something really out of the ordinary that happened on my birthday was that I got a new companion. That normally doesn't happen until a transfer date (every six weeks) so it was pretty strange. One of the elders in our district had to be moved from our district, so they split up my trio companionship and put me with the lone elder. My new companion's name is Elder Nolan, and he is a great guy. He knew literally no Spanish before coming here, and has progressed a lot. Conference

Hey remember this post post about changing your life? If you don't you better read it! Anyway, I was serious in that post. If you're not completely happy with your life, sit down right now and write ten ways to improve your life. That's what I did! But this brings up the question, how do I change my life? There's this program at Church where we learn things then we act upon them. So start by learning what you need to do. The ability to change your life probably isn't found in a textbook, but it can be found from men and women who are very close to God. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (aka Mormon) has many men and women like this, and they speak to the members of the Church twice a year for one weekend. The World Today

Everywhere you ever look today, the world is changing. Where many sins were shunned and horrific, they are right before our eyes today. Sin and squalor are all around at almost all angles. At some times, one can feel as if there is no hope and we are consigned to the woe around us, but that is not true. The truth is that the rising generation is the hope. We can be the best we want to be and make this world a better place. Think of your friends, your family, your potential, who you can become.
